Ingredients
1 cup whole milk (or almond or cashew milk)
1 Tbsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
½ tsp black pepper
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup almond flour
2 Tbsp brown sugar
6 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 scoop Vanilla Goode Health
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp kosher salt
1 cup yogurt (full-fat)
2 eggs
Directions
- In a small saucepan, warm the milk until just barely simmering. Remove from the heat, whisk in the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper and set aside to steep for 20 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, Vanilla Goode Health, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the yogurt and eggs to the spiced milk, whisking well to combine. Add the butter and brown sugar and mix.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry, folding gently until evenly mixed with no dry spots remaining.
- Heat a waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Pour about ½ cup of batter into the waffle iron, and cook until golden, repeating with the remaining batter. Spray the iron with nonstick spray between batches as needed.
